Before you do that, price a concrete drive.  We fought with the gravel on our somewhat steep (7%) gravel drive for years.  Three years ago, bit the bullet and put in a concrete drive.  

Absolute game changer from start to finish... no more sand in the house, dust, dreading rains, and for once, able to keep cars clean for more than a minute.  The list goes on...
